Training days

Our first communal training day in Thame went very nicely. So nicely, in fact, that we're going to repeat it monthly, with each training day focussing on a particular area of interest. One of the nice side-effects of our first day -- all about metadata, catalogues and exports -- was that Bibliocloud users got to talk to each other, and share ideas. I hope that our next days are as full of warmth and good ideas as the first.

So I'm pleased to say the next two days are confirmed: Royalties on July 22nd and Production on August 26th. Read on for details!

At our Royalties day on July 22nd 2015, the agenda will look like this:

9.00am Arrival and coffee at our venue (Spread Eagle, Thame)
9.15am Contracts. We’ll start the day looking at a potential new title, quickly adding the basics to Bibliocloud, then preparing for our acquisition meeting by completing a forecast P&L, setting our draft contract up correctly from the start to avoid re-work
10.30am Coffee. A chance to chat with other Bibliocloud users.
11.00am Calculations. We’ll import some sales data from a range of sources, including Amazon and various distributors, then run the royalties for a period. We’ll review and re-run as needed
12.45pm Lunch. Good food, and more chatting with other Bibliocloud users.
1.30pm Statements. We’ll tailor a statement template to our purposes, generate a bunch of PDF statements, send to the recipients and record our payments, closing off the period.
2.45pm Coffee. More coffee. More chatting.
3.10pm Question time. Questions and answers on what’s come up during the day.
3.45pm Close. Hit the road with a brain full of new information.
